Sports can teach us many valuable life lessons, including the importance of turning an unfortunate development into a positive outcome. For Vikings defensive end Kenechi Udeze, that lesson transcended the football field and landed in his personal life.
Following the 2007 season, Udeze was diagnosed with an acute form of leukemia. Since then, Udeze has shown a toughness and resiliency that outmatches any effort one could put forth on a football field.
On Friday, April 18, Udeze welcomed twin cities
soccer teams for a 24-hour “Marrowthon” at
Winter Park to benefi t the National Marrow
Donor Program Organization (NMDP). Now
you can see how Udeze took an unfortunate
development — being diagnosed with leukemia
— and turned it into a positive outcome —
